⚡ Thursday Thunder - The Crazy AI News You Probably Missed This Week! Apple Vision Pro!

Published 11 months ago • 3 min read

👋 Welcome to the 643 NEW readers this week.

Hey Folks,

This week has been pretty crazy. As the Founder of a company that uses AI and mixed reality most of my time has been spent diving into Apple's WWDC and it's big announcement that will change hardware over the next few years.

There has been a tonne of AI news too so let's dive right in.

🏔️Quote of the Week

"My favorite things in life don't cost any money. It's really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time." - Steve Jobs

✍️ Today's Prompt - SEO Content Calendar

Generate an SEO-friendly 4-week content calendar focused on the primary keyword [specific niche or industry], that aligns with {my target audience's} topics such as {interests and needs}, and which have a high potential for organic search traffic and engagement, with long tailed keyword titles, with high search volume and low competition.

The articles should be focussed on improving my topical authority for SEO, I want to make sure that my topics are relevant and informative.

Provide the output in a table format with each week consisting of seven posts scheduled for different days of the week."

The keyword I'm targeting is: "the power of ai".

📚 Something For Sharing

1. Apple Announces Apple Vision Pro At WWDC

“With Vision Pro, you’re no longer limited by a display,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said, introducing the new headset at WWDC 2023.

After a reported seven years of development, Apple’s AR headset is finally here. Launching next year Vision Pro will cost $3,499 and if you can afford it the new headset aims to usher in the era of spatial computing allowing you to watch movies, FaceTime friends and use a virtual Desktop in AR rather than relying on a screen.

2. OpenAI releases best practices for prompting ChatGPT

OpenAI have clearly seen everyone complaining that outputs seem to be slipping compared to earlier in alpha. Helpfully they have released a breakdown of how to write prompts for GPT models together with some examples. The information is fairly basic and if you want to take your prompting to the next level be sure to check out my 7-Day Ai PROmpt Engineer course which now has over 1,700 members in early access.

3. Meta announces Quest 3 headset

Not to be out done by Apple Meta announced the launch of the Quest 3 headset which will retail at just under $500 and be released in autumn. The Quest 3 will have both VR and MR capabilities. The Quest 2 has also received a $100 price cut, with the entry-level variant available at $299 starting June 4.

4. Instagram might be working on an AI-bot

Instagram may be working on an AI chatbot, according to images leaked by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi.

According to the leaks, which reflect in-progress app developments that may or may not ship, these AI agents can answer questions or give advice. Users can pick from 30 different AI personalities, who can also help users write messages.

5. OpenAI still not training GPT-5, Sam Altman says

As reported by TechCrunch OpenAI is still not training GPT-5, months after the Microsoft-backed startup pledged to not work on the successor to GPT-4 “for some time” after many industry executives and academics expressed concerns about the fast-rate of advancements by Sam Altman’s large language models.

6. ChatGPT told Charlie Brooker exactly how not to write a ‘Black Mirror’ episode

“Black Mirror” has been one of the most consistently on-target (and consistently frightening) satires of humanity’s relationship with technology. So consistent, in fact, that ChatGPT was able to write an episode of it that series creator Charlier Brooker hated.
