⚡ xAI, GPT4 Code Interpreter and Better Sleep!

Published 10 months ago • 3 min read

👋 Welcome to the 814 NEW readers this week.

Hey Folks,

If you're new here Thursday Thunder is where I share the best self-development tips, AI tools, and productivity hacks each week to help you live a healthier, wealthier, happier and more productive life.

This has been a crazy week with lots of new AI advances and Meta even launched their own version of twitter.

I've been spending the week working on a pretty huge update for 7-Day AI Prompt Engineer ahead of the full launch in 4 weeks when the price will go back to normal from early access.

I've also been head-down experimenting with the newly released code interpreter for GPT4 which I'll be releasing a video walkthrough for on Sunday.

So let's dive right in.

🏔️Quote of the Week

"Keep your face always toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you."
— Walt Whitman

✍️ Today's Prompt - Daily Task Planner

I want to code for 2 hours tomorrow and clean my house. I also need 3 hours to do an administrative task. Provide a schedule in a CSV format that could be used by Google Calendar. Include a Reminder for each event 30 minutes before the event occurs.

*NB - add Code Interpreter on ChatGPT Plus to generate the .csv file.

📚 Something For Sharing

1. ChatGPT Code Interpreter is Now Available on ChatGPT Plus GPT4 Subscriptions

I've been trying out code interpreter this week and it's pretty cool being able to analyse files, tweak images and lots more. I'll be sharing my findings in Sunday's YouTube Video so be sure to check it out.

2. 🛌 Lessons to Apply from 3 Years of Sleep Data

This couple tracked the impact of different habits on their sleep for 3 years.

  1. 🍕 Avoid eating before bed - both partners reported a significant increase in sleep quality when they stopped eating 3 hours before bed.
  2. ⏰ Go to bed earlier - there was significant improvement in sleep when in bed before 11pm.
  3. 🧊 Keep your room cold - melatonin is key to deep sleep. When your body temperature is too high, it interrupts melatonin production.

3. Claude 2 Is Here To take On ChatGPT

Anthropic has released Claude 2. This version comes with improved coding/maths/reasoning, longer responses, and can be accessed via API and a beta website for UK and US users.

Claude 2 scores 76% on the bar exam, is in the 90th percentile of the GRE writing exam, and can produce documents with thousands of tokens. OpenAI has some real competition.

4. Elon Launches xAI

Elon Musk has launched an artificial intelligence startup that will be “pro-humanity”, as he said the world needed to worry about the prospect of a “Terminator future” in order to avoid the most apocalyptic AI scenarios.

Musk said xAI would seek to build a system that would be safe because it was “maximally curious” about humanity rather than having moral guidelines programmed into it.

More details on what this mean will be coming tomorrow 14th July in a Twitter Spaces announcement.

5. Are You On Threads?

Turns out the best way to hit 100M monthly active users is to have another app with 2.35 billion monthly active. Threads, Meta's twitter alternative, is fairly basic but a great opportunity to engage with others and build an audience online as it grows.
